2008-10-31 2008-07-26 The film's writer/director, John-Luke Montias introduced the film by saying, "This is not going to be a feel-good film" In part, he was right. This film did not pretend that life is without an ugly side. However I also don't think that this was a feel-bad film. The film's main character Olivia, is a very sweet, pretty and young Mexican woman who came to America, thinking that she would have a better life. Instead, she was thrown into a situation in which others tried to strip her of everything, including her dignity, in order that they could make a few bucks off of her services. So she found herself in strange country with no one to turn to for help, including the cops who were in on the bad deal. In several twists of ironic fate, Olivia is at first like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, desperately wishing for an opportunity to go home. On her journey back to Mexico, she transforms into an unwitting Charles Bronson mowing down the Wicked Witch with a .44 Magnum. At first it looked like the land of milk and honey; but the grass is always greener on the other side of the border. She came to America, desperate for opportunity.
Photos from L to R: P.S. I should mention that my name is in the credits as Special Thanks, because I helped Mike figure out some things in Avid DS Nitris. Here's a Special You're Welcome! 2008-06-26
